CPM Question of the Month: January 2021
Q: I need to replace my now obsolete Hasler WJ20 postage meter. I have a low volume of mail. I am working from home and have some occasional contract paralegals. However, I do need a record, in the form of a postmark, as proof of mailing. Would you please point me in the right direction to research the best options for someone in my situation?
A: You could use Stamps.com, which is what many attorneys have replaced their postal meters with, or you can rent a new postage meter, like one from Pitney Bowes or Quadient. Here is a comparison between Stamps.com and Pitney Bowes. Finally, if you want to outsource mailing entirely there is a service for attorneys called CaseMail that does just that. They have a free plan (as in, no subscription fee) and you pay for the postage and the printing and certificate of service (if necessary).
