Justice Mark A. Davis
Justice Mark Davis was appointed to the Supreme Court of North Carolina on March 11, 2019. Prior to his appointment to the Supreme Court, he was appointed to the North Carolina Court of Appeals in 2012 as an associate judge. He was elected to a full eight-year term in 2014. He also served as General Counsel in the Office of the Governor for approximately two years. He served as a Special Deputy Attorney General in the North Carolina Department of Justice for five years. He spent 13 years as an attorney with Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, where he was a member of the firm in the Litigation Section. Justice Davis received his law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1991 and his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1988. Upon his graduation from law school, he served as a law clerk to Judge Franklin T. Dupree Jr. in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of N.C. from September 1991 to August 1993.
