Nan Hannah, Jared Smith Join Foundation Board; Stinson Re-Elected

Upon completion of 2022 NCBA Annual Meeting and the summer and organizational meetings of the NCBA Board of Governors and the NCBF Board of Directors, the NCBF Board of Directors has been finalized for 2022-23.

New members of the board include Nan Hannah of Hannah Sheridan & Cochran, LLP in Raleigh, who has been elected to a three-year term as an at-large member, and Jared Smith of Management Information Exchange (MIE) in Raleigh, who has been appointed to a three-year term as chair of the NCBF Programs Committee.

Six at-large board members serve staggered three-year terms on the NCBF Board of Directors and are eligible to serve two terms. Robin J. Stinson of Bell, Davis & Pitt in Winston-Salem has been re-elected to her second three-year term as an at-large board member while Hannah is serving her first term as an at-large board member. This is also Smith’s first three-year term as a standing committee chair.

She is also a past president of the Wake County Bar Association and 10th Judicial District Bar. Hannah is a graduate of Furman University (B.A., 1981), Baylor University (M.S., 1982) and Washington & Lee University (J.D., 1993).

Robin Stinson is a white woman with short dark brown hair. She is wearing a light blue shirt and a medium blue jacket.

Robin Stinson served as a member of the NCBA Board of Governors and NCBF Board of Directors in 2004-07, and is a past chair of the Family Law Section. She has been certified as a Family Law Specialist by the N.C. State Bar since 1991 and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Stinson is a graduate of Duke University and UNC School of Law.

Jared Smith is a white man with brown curly hair and brown glasses. He is pictured with his head tilted to the left and smiling, and he is wearing a grey button down shirt and dark grey jacket.Jared Smith has been involved with the NCBA and NCBF throughout his young law career, serving previously as foundation and development manager for the N.C. Equal Access to Justice Commission and as communications coordinator for the National Association of Pro Bono Professionals. Smith is a graduate of Davidson College and UNC School of Law.

Patti Ramseur of Ramseur Maultsby LLP in Greensboro returns to service on the NCBF Board of Directors as president-elect of the Foundation and the NCBA, and previously served on both boards and as chair of the Young Lawyers Division. Ramseur will also chair the NCBA/NCBF Audit & Finance Committees and serve on the NCBA/NCBF Executive Committees.

Additional individuals have joined the NCBF Board of Directors either by election or appointment by NCBA/NCBF President Clayton D. Morgan and President-elect Ramseur. They are:

Judge Richard Doughton of Sparta, who is chairing the Senior Lawyers Division and serving on the NCBA/NCBF Executive Committees.

Lisa M. Williford of Fox Rothschild in Greensboro, who is chairing the Young Lawyers Division and serving on the NCBA/NCBF Executive Committees.

Sidney O. Minter of Advance Auto Parts in Raleigh, who is serving on the NCBA/NCBF Audit & Finance Committees.

Ashley Rusher of Blanco Tackabery & Matamoros, P.A. in Winston-Salem, who is serving on the NCBA/NCBF Audit & Finance Committees.

Richard Thigpen of Kirk Palmer & Thigpen, P.A. in Charlotte, who is serving on the NCBA/NCBF Executive Committees.

Monica Webb-Shackleford of the N.C. Utilities Commission in Raleigh, who is serving on the NCBA/NCBF Executive Committees.

Jerry Walters of Littler Mendelson P.C. in Charlotte, who is serving on the NCBA/NCBF Executive Committees.
