Zoning, Planning & Land Use
The Zoning, Planning & Land Use Section includes attorneys and paralegals in private and local governmental practice who routinely handle matters related to land use, zoning, zoning litigation and environmental regulations affecting the development of land.
The establishment of the Zoning, Planning & Land Use Section coincided with the expansion of zoning and land use law as a growing specialty among members of the bar. Concurrently, the pace of real estate development in North Carolina and the growing body of regulations by local governments has created significant opportunities for attorneys practicing in the zoning and land use area. Affiliate membership is open to nonlawyers active in the field of zoning, planning and land use law. The Section also presents an Award of Excellence in conjunction with its Annual Meeting.
